Development of a Document & Workflow Management environment
To develop and implement a Document Management System (DMS) with a Workflow Management System (WMS) for the management of project information and departmental information. Specific requirements were that the system could work completely web-based whereby third parties (clients, contractors) could work with the system.
Selection of a technical documentation system
A market survey and system selection has been carried out for the management of the technical documentation of various geographically dispersed locations. The possibility of working with external design agencies and contractors who could change the technical documentation off-site, with an approval procedure in the management organization for the update of the information, was important.
Return on Investment analysis of a PLM project
A Return on Investment (ROI) analysis has been carried out for the implementation of a new PLM system at a product-developing company. In conjunction with the business units, the expected benefits and savings in working methods with the new PLM system were mapped out and compared with the expected project costs. The ROI analysis is presented to the management board for approval of the PLM implementation budgets.
Selection and implementation of an EDMS system
The selection and implementation of a new Document and Workflow Management system, or Electronic Document Management System, EDMS. The system is used for the registration of technical documentation (specifications and drawings) for projects and the management organization. A functional program of requirements has been drawn up with a working group with representatives from the various divisions. In cooperation with the IT department, a technical program of requirements has been drawn up and a market survey has been conducted. A demonstration of suppliers was followed with a group of core users, after which a benchmark was performed. With the selected party, a pilot project has been set up that was carried out by a select group of users. After this, a roll-out took place per division, giving users an instruction.
Development of delivery guidelines
After the project phase, the realized products or facilities (buildings, installations) are transferred to the management organization. For effective management, it is important that the right information is delivered in the right composition and structure. This requires guidelines and procedures. In this project, a number of delivery guidelines have been developed that are included in the project management system. The guidelines include procedures for delivery, quality control and technical documentation.
Improvement of project handover documentation
For the handover phase of products, the delivery documentation is often a concern for companies. By legislation and standards regarding product liability; CE marking, CALS / ILS, ISO 9000 and Configuration Management, the delivery and management of products with their documentation is a complex matter. In this process, in consultation with the engineering department, production, project management, sales, expedition and repair, a method has been developed for uniforming the delivery documentation.
